Good Eye: Responding to the Landscape. June 15 ? September 2. Opening Reception June 15, 2:00 p.m. Sharon Barfoot has enjoyed a long and varied career in the arts that has included costume and jewelry design, teaching, graphics, curating and, most recently, painting full-time. Sharon?s approach to the work in this exhibition is minimalist in which she applies the Buddhist concept of Miksang. Miksang is a Tibetan word meaning ?good eye? where it is asked that we view the world in a new way; a way that is always fresh as if seeing it for the first time. Sharon responds to the landscape with a ?good eye? and works to bare the bones and remove the details in order to find the essence of place.
