    Located on Lake Huron, in Bruce County, Saugeen Shores is family-friendly, with its community events, recreational and fitness facilities, trails, parks, and beautiful beaches. There is one secondary and three elementary schools in Saugeen Shores, plus one Catholic elementary school. Georgian College’s Owen Sound campus is just a short drive away. Nineteen churches, representing many denominations, serve the municipality’s spiritual needs.

    Pumpkinfest is the ultimate “family” event and our largest festival and is held annually the weekend before the Canadian Thanksgiving attracting more than 50,000 visitors.

    The hospital in Southampton is part of the Grey Bruce Health Services’ network of hospitals. Medical clinics in Port Elgin and Southampton serve several physicians, which provide inpatient care and staff the emergency department year round. There are also two retirement and two assisted living facilities, and one long term care home.

    Arts, culture and heritage have a strong presence in the community, as evident by the period architecture, local museum, art school and gallery and many cultural events.
