The purpose of the event is to draw families from all over Saugeen Shores and Bruce County region into the downtown retail sectors of Saugeen Shores.
The goal is to expose brick and morter business to very young families who may have never seen your business.
These will be permanent lasting memories for the young children and families who experience a sense of comradery by making connections with downtowns and having real people experiences with small businesses.
This experience brings back a bit of the 'old days' family experience in downtowns which we need to work hard at preserving.
Having the event before October 31st allows business to work hard at making their location really get in spirit.
It encourages parents to move their shopping earlier instead of last minute grab and go, which can easily happen.
It can be looked at as a trial run for Halloween as kiddies and young parents work on their costume outfits to get in spirit.
It can give parents and kids ideas for places to shop prior to the Christmas season.
The event isn't entirely about Halloween. It is about facilitating an event that creates the feeling of 'Community', both of businesses and the public. We aim to reacquaints residents with their core business communitt as well as introduce out-of-towners while creating memorable and lasting impressions.
